Bryan Brunette
Bryan serves as the The Referee Institute Camp Director and was hired as the Supervisor of Women's Basketball Officials for the Old Dominion Athletic Conference in April 2026.
A 30 year veteran of DI women’s basketball officiating, he works the ACC, America East, American, A-10, Big East, Big South, Coastal and Patriot League conferences. He has worked numerous conference tournaments, including championship games, and was selected to work 2 Final Fours; Nashville in 2014 and Tampa in 2015.
Karen Preato
Karen is a 30-year Women's Basketball referee. She currently officiates in the SEC and multiple other conferences.
Karen has been selected to work the NCAA DI Final Four as well as the NCAA DIII National Championship.
Kristi Vera
After officiating for 28 years, Kristi serves as the Associate Supervisor for the Atlantic 10 and is responsible for the scheduling and evaluation of officials and for the identification of new and upcoming officials.
Nic Cappel
Nic is a 23-year Women's Basketball referee. He currently officiates in the ACC and multiple other conferences.
Nic has been selected to work the NCAA DI tournament 7 times.
Brian Wallace
Brian is a 11-year Women's basketball referee. He currently works in the America East, Atlantic Sun, Big South, Coastal Athletic, Northeast, Ohio Valley, Patriot League, Southern, Sun Belt and multiple DIII conferences.
He has worked the NCAA DIII tournament multiple times, including the 2019 NCAA Final Four. He also called a first-round 2017 WNIT game, and is a four-time ODAC championship game official.
Josh Beutell
Josh is a 9-year Women's Basketball referee. He currently works in the Atlantic 10, Coastal Athletic, Big South, America East, Northeast, Southern, Patriot League, Atlantic Sun and multiple DII and DIII conferences.
Josh has worked the NCAA DII tournament including two times to the NCAA Elite Eight. He has also officiated the ODAC championship once.
Wyatt Howard
Camp AssistantWyatt is a 7-year NCAA Women's Basketball referee. He currently works in the Southern and Atlantic Sun and multiple D2 and D3 conferences. He also still works high school basketball in NC.
Wyatt has worked the NCAA D3 tournament as well as multiple ODAC conference tournaments.
Wyatt still works full time as a high school teacher. He is from Burlington, NC.
